Introduction to Tribal Fusion technique
Who
Sharon Kihara
An exotic blend of Japanese, European and Native American ancestry with a passion for creative fusion in art, music and dance, Sharon Kihara began studying classical ballet and jazz dance at age 4, before transferring her love to Cabaret belly dance at age 14 and finally Tribal Style.
Sharon has been performing and teaching Tribal Fusion belly dance in the San Francisco Bay area and abroad since 1999, and touring with the Bellydance Superstars since early 2004. She is a member of the school of her most notable teacher, Suhaila Salimpour, and also loves modern and Afro-Haitian dance, pilates and yoga. She has performed as a dancer and fire performer with Rabbit on the Moon Productions and esteemed circus company El Circo, sharing stages with such acts as Missy Elliot and the Black Eyed Peas.
When not touring with the Superstars, Sharon teaches, travels internationally and is interested in finding new ways to better the situations of women worldwide, through the realm of art and beyond. Sharon can be seen in the "Live at The Folies Bergere in Paris" DVD and in "Bellydance Superstars Volume II" DVD.
